Our History
Please enjoy this letter from our company’s dedicated president, Mr. McCutcheon:
I was born and raised in a small town north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, called Wampum. As the son of a custom homebuilder, I grew up in the shadows of backhoes and rooflines.
When I was 16 years old, I started my own career working for Ranier Devido Stone and Marble Company in New Castle, Pennsylvania. I began working as an architectural draftsman, creating layouts and designs in stone.
This played a big role in what was to come in my life. While working with granite, marble, and limestone, my interest in natural stone was piqued. The architectural drafting and layout techniques I learned formed the foundation for me to create and build.
At the age of 23, I began to work for my brother-in-law, drafting new homes. While his construction company would build the homes, I would install the tile. Soon, the need arose for me to start my own tile installation business.
In June 2001, after vacationing in the area, my wife and I decided to make the Eastern Shore our home. This is when Tile Guys was born. For the first four and a half years, Tile Guys subcontracted work from a small, local tile store. On January 13, 2006, we decided to depart from the tile store and begin working towards building our own showroom.
Since the departure, Tile Guys has dramatically expanded in the scope of service we provide. We are serving the Eastern Shore in all of their tile and renovation needs.
I believe the success of our businesses is wholly based on simple Biblical principles such as, “Treat others as you would have them treat you” and “Do everything as though you are doing it for God himself.” As a small, family-operated business, we look forward to serving you and your family in all of your home improvement needs.

Our Product Warranty
Over the years, we’ve struggled to nail down our response to the warranty question. Customers have asked often, but our feelings were hard to put into words. We hope you’ll be pleased with the answer.
One staple slogan of this country is “In God we trust”—not in lawyers or fine print. Colossians 3:23 says: “Whatever you do, work at it with your whole heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” These are things that we’ve taken to heart in our business, and they embody key values on which we’ve built our success. We believe in giving every job our all: all of our effort, all of our craftsmanship, all of our knowledge, all of our experience, and all of our dedication. Our goal is to ensure you receive the highest quality of workmanship from the start, and that the only time you’ll need to pick up the phone to call us is to ask us to help you with your next project. We strive for perfection and excellence, and we perform rigorous checks along the way to ensure that standard is being met.
Still, with all of that said, we understand that sometimes things do happen and mistakes occur. While we aim for that to happen as little as possible, we understand the desire to know you’ll be taken care of by a warranty. The thing is, we could have written and posted the best, most ironclad warranty that money could buy here, but we believe that it doesn’t mean anything if the company doesn’t have the moral character and resolve to follow through on it. This means answering and return phone calls, and showing up to fix any issue to the customer’s satisfaction.
While manufacture warranties do still apply, we believe we don’t need to put a warranty here because we want to establish trust with our customers. We believe in actions and character, not just words. Our values, work ethic, success, satisfied clients, and the way we treat you reflect the morals of our company. We want you to be assured by that—that we’re good, honest people who only want to provide the best service and products possible—not by a warranty, but with integrity. At Tile Guys LLC, we treat our customers like family, and we will do what it takes to make your job perfect and your experience with us unforgettable. We just don’t want you to rely on a warranty to tell you that.
